RateMovies is made by one person. It has no advertising, no analytics, and no trackers. This policy describes everything it stores.
Used only to sign you in. When you request a sign-in code, your address is passed to the email provider so the code can be delivered. It is never sold, shared for marketing, or added to a mailing list.
For each film you rate: the film's identifier, its title and release date, the star rating you gave it, and when you rated it. The app also records when a film moves down a band, including whether you chose it or the app chose it when you declined every option.
No location, no contacts, no device identifiers, no advertising ID, no usage analytics, no crash reporting. The app does not ask for any device permissions.
Your ratings are never sold or shared with anyone else, in any form that identifies you.
You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app, under My Ratings → Delete account. If you've already uninstalled it, email ratemovies.app@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. Full details are on the account deletion page.
This removes your account, your email address, every rating you have made, and your rating history. It cannot be undone. Deletion is normally completed within 30 days. Once your ratings are gone they no longer count toward the Top 250.
Until you ask for it to be deleted. There is no automatic expiry.
RateMovies is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
